Concepts x Canada Goose Orange Parka

With the snowy weather here in Queens, NY I'm glad to see some intense winter gear coming out. Winter wear company Canada Goose hooked up with Concepts (Yeah East Coast!) to release the Canada Goose Orange Parka. As you can see this parka is no joke and will definitely keep you warm even under the harshest conditions...while still looking fresh as hell of course. The bright and easy to spot orange can be considered a vibrant fashion statement, or a safety precaution. The only way to get this parka is through the Concepts store in Massachusets. You can either go there, or make a phone order (the number is 617-868-2002). No word on price on any online source, but just call the Concepts store and I'm sure they'll tell you everything.

2009 A Bathing Ape Monotone Skull STAs

Possibly one of the worst designs to come out of *A Bathing Ape since the fish parka, Bape is at it again with the Skull STAs and have just released a new pair. These are released in simple colorways (Black/White, White/Black and just White). They don't really do anything for me but if you were waiting for a more simple release from Bape and like the Skull STA design, then go for it! They retail for 16590 yen (thats $202 in an US Bape Shop).

Air Jordan Fusion 4

In the later half of 2009 the new Air Jordan Fusion 4s are supposed to drop. For the Fusion 4s, Jordan basically took the Jordan IV design and put an Air Force One mid- sole on it. These are actually my favorite fusions and I can't wait for them to drop! Word is they'll retail for around $150 and should be available at Jordan retailers like Footlocker and NikeTown.

Black Klown Clothier Obama RUN DC T-Shirt

I've been looking around lately for something interesting and fresh to blog about, but nothings really caught my eye. A Bathing Ape hasn't released anything good (still waiting for the Shark Denims), and BBC just released their Ice Cream Marlyn Monroe Hoodie in pink on their online store (finally). But other than that, nothing else is really out there right now. I did happen to find a Obama "RUN DC" shirt from Black Klown Clothier. What Black Klown did was take the RUN DMC shirt that has been seen and re-done numerous times before (Run DMC Baby Milo was one of the better re-inventions), but this time they put a political spin and some spunk into it. This tee runs in limited edition and is available on their online store for $30.

Restaurants I Want to Try

Well after visiting Buddakan last night I'm kind of in the mood to once again deviate from my usual street wear topic and write about some trendy and great restaurants in the Manhattan area. Well instead of a review, this time I'm writing about 5 restaurants I really want to try in the near future and why. So lets begin:

#5: NoBu 57

NoBu is Robert DeNiro's resturant and is apparently phenomenal. They serve mainly Japanese cuisine but NoBu also throws in some Pan-Asian dishes as well. From the pictures, the decor looks stunning and I hear the food is great and it should be, as the prices are through the roof!

#4: Megu

Megu is a luxurious

restaurant on 62 Thomas St. They serve a Modern Japanese cuisine and feature a full sushi bar. From the pictures the restaurant looks absolutely stunning. The lounge area's walls are designed with authentic Japanese crafts and the main dinning room consists of clay walls and a 5 foot Buddha ice sculpture situated in the middle of the room. I really want to try this place out and see if it lives up to all the hype!

#3: The Stanton Social

The Stanton Social is a trendy tapas bar located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They serve an American and International Cuisine. The restaurant is essentially a trendy tapas bar that can also double as a beautiful lounge. Looking at the menu, this place has a little bit of everything and is perfect for any budget.

#2: One Little West 12

One Little West 12 is a trendy bar/lounge located in the Meatpacking District. They serve International and American cuisine. The images of the restaurant look stunning as it looks like the perfect hang out spot for a Friday night. Oh, another thing about One Little West 12, its massive...well not Buddakan massive but still its pretty impressive. I'm definitely checking this place out in the near future!

#1: Buddha-Bar

Ahh the legendary Buddha-Bar. The loud, showy and trendy Pan-Asian restaurant located once again, in the Meatpacking district. The ambiance I hear is quite similar to Tao as it features top notch Modern Asian decor and loud dance music blasting all over the restaurant...and I forgot to mention the massive Buddha statue situated in the dining room. With two other locations in Paris and Dubai, Buddha-Bar finally hit New York and according to word of mouth, is definitely worth a visit!

Buddakan New York

Media_httpwwwurbanspooncomblink23024biglinkgif_zpvjvsocgglwpen

Tonight me and 4 friends went to Buddakan which is located in the meatpacking district of Manhattan. From the outside, you'd never notice it nor think its Buddakan. Its a very small black building with a tiny sign which reads 'Buddakan' and situated next to a large building (the building number is 202 so if you're going that helps a lot in locating it). Reservations are a must as any walk-ins after 6:30 are most likely going to have a wait time longer than 30 minutes. But trust me 30 minutes in Buddakan are a well spent 30 minutes. Upon arrival the staff greets you at the front desk. You are offered to wait in the lounge/bar area till you are seated. The bar has a different feel than the bar at Tao as its less noisy and has less of a club atmosphere and more of a lounge atmosphere. If you have a little bit of downtime be sure to look at the entire restaurant. There is the main dinning room which consists of immensely high ceilings and extravagant chandeliers, oh and I can't leave out the giant communal table which can seat up to 30 people. But that's not the only dinning room, there are two more. One is more quiet and good for going for a more casual dinner as you do have a bit more privacy than in the main dining room. Then next to it there is the library room which consists of a bar and lounge area and of course tables to eat at. The entire restaurant is gorgeous. My favorite room is the main dinning room and the library but each room has something to bring to this "super restaurant". But not only is the decor incredible, so is the food. Buddakan serves Chinese cuisine. The dishes are served family style (meaning which ever dish is ready first is served and not everything comes out at the same time) and your portions are based on your party size, so this is a perfect place if you're into ordering a mix of everything and sharing it. The food is phenomenal and definitely makes it worth the price, though price wise, its not as expensive as one may think. Its around $45 a person with an appetizer and entree (well that's not including drinks). All and all I'm glad we checked out this superb restaurant and I will definitely be returning in the future!

Just dropped on Billionaire Boys Club's Online Store

Today, two new BBC items just hit their online store. The new 'BBC Astronaut '09 Tee' and the BBC Cord Knit Zip Hoodie (sorry I couldn't get a better picture). Both items are highly anticipated and finally dropped somewhere other than the BBC flagship stores and BBC is trying to keep them as exclusive as possible. My friend tried to see if one was in stock at the BBC store in SoHo, and the employees told him they were sold out. He went to the store two days later and picked one up at the same location that claimed they were sold out...something the Bape store on Greene Street would do. But never the less, these items did drop and get them while you still can! The Tee retails for $80 and the hoodie is $310. Also, I'm still waiting for the Ice Cream Marilyn Monroe Zip-up to hit the online store. They have the same hoodie in an oatmeal color but call it the Ice Cream Waitress Zip Hoodie (it retails for $260 incase you're interested).
