A Bathing Ape NOWHERE X Takashi (Undercover)

A Bathing Ape collaborates with the designer of Undercover (Takashi) to create a release to commemorate the new Bape NOWHERE store on Dover Street in London. This is the first NOWHERE Bape store to open in a while, so of course Nigo had to make a release about it. Its a throwback to their clothing released in the 90s, and is simple yet noticeable...and of course LIMITED! If you're in London for the day of the Dover Street NOWHERE store opening (on Jan. 17) go! Get an item from this release and a signed *A Bathing Ape book from Nigo (who's doing a book signing that day as well). Its going to be a big day Jan. 17th for NOWHERE Dover Street!

Commonwealth x Stussy DC “Historic” Tee

Well now that we have our first African-American president BARACK OBAMA...its about time we bring him into street wear...officially (not with that Urban Outfitters crap). This time Stussy teamed up with Commonwealth to create a T-Shirt to commemorate Barack Obama's inauguration day (Jan. 20th). Not that this hasn't been done before (Play Cloths did exactly the same thing), but its always good to see a new perspective on it! They drop Jan. 19th and are extremely limited as they're only getting released at Stussy DC.

A Bathing Ape Spring 2009 Special Order Items

For all who didn't know (or were tricked as I was) ALL *A Bathing Ape Spring 2009 Special Order Items will ONLY release in Japan. This means the only way to get all Special Order items is through a Bape Store in Japan, Pondon (the #1 A Bathing Ape Ebay reseller) or some other Ebay or reseller. I am really disappointed as I really wanted the shark jeans and fire camo shark parka! Oh well, I guess I'll just get it off Pondon!

These are the special order items that aren't going anywhere but Ebay and Japan's Bape Stores:

A Bathing Ape 15th Anniversay Book Signing NYC

Well this is rather old news, but the A Bathing Ape 15th Anniversay Book Signing at 91 Greene St. NY (The Bape Shop) was last December. There were a little over 100 people there (be being about the 28th person there.) The book itself is everything A Bathing Ape has done over the past 15 years of its existance (everything from A Bathing Ape Pepsi campagns to its Shark Parkas). Nigo pulled up in his Suburban (and you expected the Baped out Bugatti?) at around 11:30...and we froze outside for another half hour! But most did get the book (there were 80 in total) and the books ran for $65 a piece.

Nike Lunar Racers (EXCLUSIVE INFO!)

At the new Nike Sportswear store at 21 Mercer Street in SoHo, NY, I was able to take a look at possibly one of the lightest shoes I've held. They are called the Lunar Racers made by of course, Nike. They are perfect for the spring and are an orthopedic utopia for any runner! They are even perfect for someone who'd wear them just for the style (me). According to Hypebeast, they're said to drop in May of 2009 but Nike Sportswear on 21 Mercer street, has them already! I believe they were $110 but I may be mistaken (but definitely not more than $120).

*A Bathing Ape Lucky Bag

A Bathing Ape recently released a Lucky Bag for 21,000 yen. The contents of this bag were a mystery and you basically took a risk of not knowing what you were getting upon purchase. All you were 100% sure of was the size. Well, who ever was bummed out that they didn't get their hands on this bag, don't be. The contents were pretty weak and didn't even come close to being worth the 21,000 yen ($234) you would have paid to get it! My personal opinion, the Cliffedge Lucky Bag was WAY more worth it than the official A Bathing Ape bag...too bad CliffEdge's are completely sold out!

4 Worst Nike SB Dunk Releases of 2008

2008 was the Mecca of horrible SB Dunk releases...well the Gold Box SB Dunks were just awful in general (with a few exceptions). These are (in my opinion) the worst Nike SB Dunk releases of 2008:

#4: Nike SB Dunk Low Black/Atom red: It does nothing for me! Its not even a shocking design, or even a sneaker so simple it looks fly! Its just awful colors combined into one SB sneaker! Not cool Nike SB!

Media_httpimgskatewarehousecomproductimagesnkdlbarjpg_iacipjifehwimbh

#3: Nike SB Dunk Mid "Spider Man": This was apart of the "Superhero" pack...and apart of possibly the biggest failure of any Nike SB release. The Superhero pack was the weakest pack Nike SB released...ever. These Nike SB Spidermans don't do the real spiderman any justice! Awful colorways and nothing that we haven't seen before! And Bape did the whole "superhero" release so much better than Nike SB! Nike SB...FAILED ATTEMPT!

Media_httpwwwcowtownskateboardscomproductphotoslargexldunkmidspidermanjpg_hdxtpwjgfclkgwd

#2 Nike SB Dunk Mid "Batman": Now, this shoe doesn't even contain the Yellow and Black of the real Batman. It's mainly gray, with a black leather swoosh, and a dull yellow inside. Its nothing special and rather boring. Its worse than the Spiderman SB Dunk because at least Nike put the Spiderman colors into the shoe, here...I don't know what they did.

#1: Nike SB Dunk Mid Tye-Dye: Possibly the tackiest shoe Nike SB has come out with to date. Poor use of tye-dye and the fake denim lookin' material...not workin' for me. Awful release in general.

Media_httpecximagesamazoncomimagesi41tpbtk40ljpg_jpefggkekxptzmk

Some of the good (not great...as there really weren't any in 2008) releases were...

Nike SB Dunk High Bobba Fett
Nike SB Dunk High Big Gulp
Nike SB Dunk High Venom
Nike SB Dunk Low Gold Rail
Nike SB Dunk Low Brown Ale
Nike SB Dunk Mid black/aqua fuel blue
Nike SB Dunk Mid Asbury Park

Generally a bad year for the SB Dunks as the good releases just weren't as fresh as the releases in the past...the SB Dunks need to make a huge comeback in 2009!
